
Tabassum Fatima Hashmi (born November 4, 1971), known professionally as Tabu, is an Indian actress known for playing troubled women in both mainstream and independent films of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, and English languages, although she primarily works in the former. Renowned as one of Hindi cinema's most accomplished actresses, her accolades include two National Film Awards, seven Filmfare Awards, two Filmfare Awards South, and the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honour.
